Bronze Statue Deva Narasimha Pair
Product no.: 4021
Description
The Deva Narasimha, mythical creatures who are half human and half lion, live in Thai mythology on the slopes of Mount Meru. Meru is the mountain of unimaginable height, on which the gods live and which stands as a world mountain in the center of the universe.
In many Thai temples there is a representation of Mount Meru with its many mythical creatures, such as the Kinaree and Naga dragons.
This pair of bronze statues was made in northern Thailand using a centuries-old wax casting process and has a unique look. Every inch of the bronze statues was designed with attention to detail.
The set consists of a male and a female Deva Narasimha.
Although this is not an antique, but a replica, it is so precisely worked that one could easily confuse it.
