Description

Filigree with a real antique look and a wonderful, dark bronze patina. This bronze statue of a Thai temple guard provides a very special ambience for Asia lovers.

Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of being able to travel to Thailand will have seen it in gigantic format at the latest at Bangkok airport, but also at numerous temples in the country.
These temple guardians, also called yakshaw in Thai, ensure with their grim grimaces that evil spirits stay away from the holy halls of the temples.

The grim guards are in the true sense of the word demons from the Ramkian, the story of the origins of Siam, who once went into battle against King Phra Ram.

Although this is not an antique, but a replica, it is so precisely worked that one could easily confuse this. The bronze statues are created in an ancient wax casting process, which is still used today as it was a hundred years ago.
